After the turmoil that raged on up until today, I half expected a nuke to go off today. Or maybe a plague of locusts, or an alien invasion. Or riots in the streets. Just something catastrophic. It really doesn't matter what.
But, much to my surprise (and relief) today wound up being excellent so far.
Michael absolutely adored his gifts, which consisted of a scoot-along Winnie the Pooh train, a vtech Catch-me Cat, a set of Lincoln Logs, and a bunch of stocking stuffers.
My wife got a Doctor Who dress with David Tennant's suit printed on it. I also bought her an emerald and white gold ring for her birthday 5 days ago.
As for myself, I got the Bible Miniseries in DVD, a $50 Wal-Mart gift card, and a couple small bags of candy.
So today in a way threw a curveball at me. It's definitely not an unwelcome surprise, but a surprise nevertheless.
So, I can safely deduce that this Christmas has not left me in a smoldering state of humbugginess.
Merry Christmas!
